Zakynthos & Crete: best places to visit if you like an eco-holiday

For the past several years, everyone seems to be interested in spending an eco-friendly vacation. Ecotourism and agrotourism in Greece have always been important both for preserving the country’s heritage and teaching the visitors about the right way to live.

Two of the loveliest places to visit if you like such a vacation are Crete and Zakynthos. While Crete is known for its healthy cuisine and traditional way of life, Zakynthos has always been a popular destination for Europeans looking for a traditional getaway. There are plenty of places to stay on the island and if you book early enough you can benefit from this incredible offer of just €256 per person, which includes 7 nights accommodation and the RT flight (from Dublin).

It’s easy to find hotels in Crete , but it’s a good idea to book in advance especially if you plan to visit the island during the high season. A good idea is to plan a day trip to Gavdos. Ferries from Crete to Gavdos only run during the summer and the experience of visiting a tiny island (about 50 inhabitants) is definitely worth your time. If you plan to stay overnight, make sure to bring a tent.
