While there are still some deals to be had on last minute trips for summer, and some people who have left their summer travel plans for the 11th hour, most of the Europe travel deals I’m seeing come across the wire these days are for fall and winter trips. It makes sense, as trips to Europe (usually) take more planning than just a week or so – plus, fall and winter trips to Europe are (usually) cheaper than summer trips anyway. Still, checking out the airfare sales that are currently available is always a good idea. Even if you don’t book immediately, it’s good to know what you’re comparing your potential airfare purchase against.

So, with that in mind, here’s a deal from Virgin Atlantic for fall and winter trips to London from their US departure cities. Some of the sample fares are:

The catch here – and it’s not a small one – is that if you want to take advantage of these excellent prices, you’ve got to book your ticket by 11:59PM ET today, July 15, 2008. Note that the departure dates that are applicable for this deal differ depending on the city you’re flying from, so pay attention to that when you’re reading the deal details. Oh, and there will be some other taxes and fees thrown in just for good measure, too.
