If the plethora of summer fare specials to European cities like London, Paris, Amsterdam and Rome has you bored, then you’ll be glad to know that US Airways has some summer deals to a few European cities that might not be at the top of everyone else’s travel lists. Now, it’s not like these places don’t have any tourists in them, but you can be almost guaranteed that the tourist crowd will be less in these destinations than in the ones I listed at the top of this post.

Here are some sample fares (all annoying quoted as one-way fares on their website – why does anyone post just one-way fares anymore?) on US Airways to Europe:

• New York to Glasgow – $317
• Atlanta, Chicago, Columbus and Seattle to Glasgow – $399
• New York to Lisbon – $354
• Atlanta, Boston, Raleigh, Washington D.C. and Baltimore to Lisbon – $399
• Charlotte, Cincinnati, Minneapolis and Orlando to Lisbon – $419

As you’ll notice, these deals aren’t going to set any hotness records here, but any little bit you can save on a trip to Europe this summer is well worth the effort. You’ll need to book these fares by June 9, 2008, and travel must occur before July 12. There’s a 3-day advance purchase required, and a 30-day maximum stay, but there’s no Saturday night stay or minimum stay as part of this deal. You can book through the US Airways website or via the phone, but if you call them you’ll be paying an extra $40 on top of everything else – so I’d recommend booking online.

The fares quoted above, in addition to being only one-way, don’t include the usual extra fees and taxes, so be sure to read all the deal details on the US Airways website before you get too excited about this one, folks.
