Tour Japan and Bangkok starting at $1,839

Japan Airlines is offering some really tempting packages at the moment, and these might be especially useful for people who want to go somewhere interesting but feel that Europe is just too expensive this summer. This package includes stops in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Bangkok, including hotels, transfers, and even a ride on the bullet train from Tokyo to Kyoto. Prices start at $1,839, although that’s from Honolulu and departing from Los Angeles or San Francisco will cost almost $200 more.

Many people assume Japan is insanely expensive, but it’s really not. Since hotels are included in this deal, you really only have to worry about food, and cheap meals are not as hard to find as you might imagine. And once you get to Bangkok things actually get quite cheap, especially compared to anywhere in Europe this summer.
