Tokyo and Seoul package starting at $1469
I haven’t seen any statistics on this, but I hope some people who aren’t sure if they should go to Europe this year due to the crazy exchange rate thing are actually thinking of heading to Asia instead. The dollar still does decently over there, and most things were never as expensive as the rumors would have you believe. Here’s a good introductory deal that includes airfare from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, or Seattle, and 5 nights (total) of nice hotels in Tokyo and Seoul starting at $1,469 from go-today.com. This price includes fuel surcharges, but of course there are some extras you might be up for, including extending the trip a few more days.
I totally recommend this sort of thing to anyone interested in exploring East Asia for the first time, because it can be a bit intimidating and this takes most of the guess-work out of it. Tokyo is a huge city, but you can actually see a heck of a lot in only 3 days, although adding a day or two is probably worthwhile. Check out this package to see if it works for you.
