Spirit Airlines has a pretty amazing online fare sale that ends today, June 5, 2008, with some flights up to 100% off. Sure, they’ve got to charge taxes and fees, and the “free” flights are only a small group from this big sale that also has many routes at 50% off and a more understandable 11% off, but this Spirit Airlines fare sale might be worth a quick look if you are thinking of going somewhere they do.

Most of the cheapest flights are only on certain dates, and also involve going to or from Puerto Rico, but if you can catch a super cheap flight to somewhere you actually want to go this could be fun. The “11% off” fares are a big group and those might still be pretty good deals in the current environment. Those also have far fewer restrictions, so it’s pretty clear that Spirit is willing to lose a bit of money on a few flights to try to fill up the rest of these, but it made me curious enough to check it out, so their strategy might work. Have a look at their offers to see if they are going anywhere you are interested in, but don’t wait because this ends today.
