It’s not new news folks—bad economy = cheap travel. In fact, with discounted prices, free nights, reduced airfares and great travel deals aplenty out there, it’s made my job pretty easy as of late. With minimal effort, you can find pretty fantastic prices on travel all over the place. That being said, even I was shocked to stumble upon this deal of all deals this morning. Smarter Travel announced fare sales on Spirit Airlines for as little as $18 round-trip. No, that’s not a typo. I’m not missing an extra digit. Fares for travel from select east coast cities to places like West Palm Beach Florida, Nicaragua and Puerto Rico for as little as $18 round-trip. Can anyone say beach vacation?

Of course these unbelievable prices do come with a few stipulations—it is a one day sale, meaning you MUST purchase tickets by TUESDAY. The fares also do include taxes and fees. Also, these $18 round-trip fares are for members of Spirit’s $9 Fare Club. Non-member fares are still a far cry from being pricey—coming in at $36 round-trip for non-members.
