I am a huge fan of almost any kind of sale. I mean, who isn’t? Any time prices are slashed on something, I’m a happy camper. I’m so much of sale-whore in fact, that I have a really hard time paying full price for just about anything. Luckily, with the economy still quite sluggish as we heat up into the peak travel season, even airlines are having to offer some pretty incredible sales to encourage people to travel this summer (instead of sitting at home on some lame staycation).

While I love Air France mostly because they give passengers free champagne (as many glasses as you want, as I discovered on my most recent flight from Paris back to the U.S. Tip—don’t drink copious cups of champagne when feeling emotional about returning from France to the states). However, I now like Air France even more with the announcement of some great last minute spring fares to Europe.

These fares are available for departures through May 26 and you can return as late as one month after your departure (a month in France? Yes please).

If you manage to take advantage of one of these spectacular deals and find yourself in France this May, you may just want to pop down to the French Riviera and check out the Cannes Film Festival, which runs from May 13-24 (not a movie star, but want to feel like one? Check out Hotels near La Croisette in Cannes). If you can’t get a good room in Cannes during the festival, you can also stay just 45 minutes down the road in Nice, where you can either opt for one of the Best hostels in Nice or splurge on a nicer place and pick from Hotels near the Promenade des Anglais in Nice.
