Looking for a short getaway? Athens is the place to go!
If your feet are itching to travel and your budget is screaming then you need to find an affordable destination, such as Athens.
Firstly you need to get there, and these prices will probably make you pack. Then you need a place to stay. If your budget doesn’t allow for a place right by the Acropolis, then you can choose one of the hostels and budget hotels near the National Archaeological Museum . On the other hand, if you plan to do a lot of train travel, you should look for budget hotels near Larissis train station .
Once the hotel or budget hotel secured, the next step is to plan your days so that you won’t spend too much money on either fun or eating out. For example, you can watch the changing of the guards in front of the Parliament and then visit one of the museums. And there are plenty more free things to do in Athens . Make sure to check out the tavernas in Plaka or Monastiraki areas for some cheap yet incredible Greek food.
