I think it must be the snow storms that have blown here into Portland this week, but something in that cold, crisp air is making me not only very excited to head back to Colorado for the holidays next week, but also has me even more energized about finding fantastic deals on ski vacations to bring to y’all, including a great page on the Aspen/Snowmass site I found offering great last-minute lodging deals.

With the economy down, more people are staying at home this winter, which means the ski resorts are being forced to offer better deals to encourage people to still head out to their slopes. Plus, while the beginning of the season was slow to start, my spies in Colorado (i.e. my parents and brother) have informed me that the mountains have been getting dumped on in recent weeks. That means lots of fresh powder for those still gearing up for a ski holiday in 2009.
