Florence Discounts Program for American Citizens
While a discount of 10% off a hotel stay might not be enough of a money-saver to get you to travel to Italy when you weren’t going to otherwise, there’s nothing like finding out about a travel discount for a place you’re already planning to visit. And that’s the kind of travel deal I’ve got for you today - it’s a voucher for American citizens to save money in participating hotels, restaurants, museums, and theatres in Florence.
Called “The Fiorino Effect,” this voucher (which you can print out here in PDF form) will get you a 10% discount on some hotel stays and meals in some restaurants, a 15% discount on some theatre shows, a 20% discount on some museum entries, and your admission to the Palazzo Medici is completely free. The repetitive use of the word “some” in that sentence could be troubling to you, because the discounts only apply at participating hotels, restaurants, museums, etc., but since it’s free to print out the voucher you might as well take a look at the list of participating hotels and restaurants (not to mention read more about some of the other places that are participating in the program) and see if you can save money.
The Fiorino Effect voucher is, as I mentioned, targeted at American citizens visiting the city and province of Florence, and the promotion runs from May 15, 2008 right through to December 31, 2008.
Thanks to the My Bella Vita blog for introducing me to this deal.
