Colorado’s most affordable ski vacation: Lodging + lift tickets starting at $64.50

Growing up in Boulder, Colorado, I had access to some of the best ski terrain in all of North America. Call me biased, but the Colorado Rockies boast some of the sickest terrain that regularly gets dusted with that light-as-air champagne powder. Now add into this equation great prices and a getaway to one of my all time favorite places in the world and you’ve got a surefire combination. Colorado’s most affordable ski vacation + great skiing + Boulder, CO = a great fu**ing time.

Especially in light of the current economic situation, there are a lot of folks out there looking for more affordable ways to getaway this year. Since times are rough for many folks out there, that ski vacation in Vail may be out of the question, but with Eldora Mountain resort offering ski packages that includes lodging and lift tickets starting at just $64 a day, maybe that awesome ski vacation isn’t totally out of the question. Now, many of you are probably thinking, Eldora Mountain resort? What’s that? While Eldora is not as well known or as large as many of Colorado’s other famous resorts like Aspen and Vail, as a former Eldora Ski Team racer and Boulder native who spent many weekends skiing at Eldora, I can assure you the slopes at this area are pretty sweet. Eldora is also located just 20 minutes from Boulder and you don’t have to drive up the often traffic filled and clogged up I-70 to get there (as you do with Vail and many of the other Colorado resorts.

The other added bonus? You’ll be able to hit the great Boulder bars for après ski drinks and explore my wonderful home town (yes, I’m biased, but Boulder is actually a fabulous place to visit). You can also check out some of the great prices on airfare with Frontier Airline’s fare sale happening right now.
