Compared to prices we were seeing just a month ago, this is pretty spectacular. American Airlines has loads of cheap flights to all over Latin America as of now. Their “teaser” fares (the ones they use in the advertisements) are all out of Miami, so naturally they are lower than if you are flying out of, say, Boston, but not all that much lower.

Fares out of Miami start at $79 each way to the following cities:

• Panama City, Panama
• San Jose, Costa Rica
• Guatemala City, Guatemala
• Managua, Nicaragua
• San Pedro Sula, Honduras
• Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago
• Santo Domingo or Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

You have to purchase these buy August 18, but I have a feeling prices won’t change too much right after that.
