Those of us who live in the Pacific Northwest are quite familiar with Alaska Airlines, and in fact we end up using the airline quite a bit as we hop from Seattle to Portland to points further south. So I’m pleased to note that Alaska has a new feature by which you can find cheaper fares than the ones you’re booking as long as your schedule isn’t set in stone.

With the new Alaska Airlines low fare calendar, you can search for the lowest prices on airline tickets without regard to travel dates. Many airlines and most airfare search sites have this feature, so it’s nice to see Alaska joining the bunch.

Alaska’s calendar lets you look at an entire month’s worth of fares, so you can see which ones are the cheapest and choose accordingly. You’ll be able to pick the cheapest fares for each leg of your flight, and can even filter your search results to see only First Class fares if you want to travel in style. To use this function, when you’re on the Alaska website just choose to search by “Low Fare Calendar” instead of by “Schedule” or “Price.”
