You may remember that I mentioned a crazy good promotion that Leading Hotels of the World was running back at the beginning of October, wherein to celebrate the year of their founding (1928) they were going to offer a limited number of hotel rooms around the world on a first-come, first-served basis for $19.28 apiece. Well, as it turned out, so many people logged onto the site to take advantage of the promotion that the site crashed and no one was able to book a hotel room. Umm, oops.

The good news is that they’re re-running the deal this Thursday, October 23. The bad news is that it’s gotten so much press in the interim that there will likely be even more people trying to log on and book hotel rooms now than there were before. I hope they upgraded their servers.

So, here’s what you need to know. If you want to get one of the 6,000-ish hotel rooms that will be up for grabs at $19.28 per night, you’ll want to get onto the LHW site about 24 hours prior to when the sale starts and register (if you aren’t already registered from the last go-round). Then, as soon as the sale starts - 2pm GMT, or 10am Eastern, 7am Pacific - get yourself onto the site. You’ll have 80 minutes to book, but hotel rooms will be going fast, so be prepared. This is one instance where it’s really going to pay to do your homework in advance, folks.
